Minister: Russia to focus on airshows other than Farnborough
MOSCOW, Mar 14 (PRIME) -- International air shows in Le Bourget and Farnborough have become irrelevant, and Russia will focus on expos in China, Singapore, and Latin America, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Le Bourget and Farnborough have become outdated as the machines that we produce go to other markets today. We are making a serious focus on participation in Chinese exhibitions, in expos in Singapore, Bahrain, Latin America. These markets are our markets, we export our machines there and we focus on them. So, we participated in Le Bourget and Farnborough only for the status,” he said.
Even if Russia partakes in the next Farnborough airshow, it will only be a basic-level participation, he said.
Earlier on Wednesday, a representative of state industrial corporation Rostec said that the company is yet to decide whether it would partake in the airshow in Farnborough as organizers of the airshow had prohibited Russian companies from demonstrating military machines.
